Manage Verkada door access right from Coworks software

If you run a coworking space, you already know the onboarding dance.

A new member signs up, you add them to your management platform, then you hop over to your access control system to create another account, assign the right doors, and hope you didn't forget a step.

Multiply that by every member, every month, and it adds up fast.

That's exactly the problem our Verkada integration solves.

Verkada is a cloud-based, keyless door access system that a lot of operators already use to manage locks and security. Now, Coworks connects directly to Verkada so you can handle member access without ever leaving the Coworks dashboard.

One place to onboard, not two

Verkada Door Integration CoworksThe core idea is simple: when you add a new member in Coworks, the integration automatically creates that person in Verkada with the right access levels. No toggling between tabs. No "oh wait, did I give them access to the back entrance?"

You set up access levels inside Verkada (think of these as groups tied to specific doors), and then when you're adding or editing a member in Coworks, you just toggle on "Add to Door Access" and pick the right group. Done.

The member gets an email from Verkada with instructions to download the app and set up their credentials. Once they do, the doors you assigned are already unlocked for them. That's a pretty smooth first-day experience for someone who just joined your space.

It works for self-service signups, too

If you're using public plan signups in Coworks (where prospective members can browse your plans and sign up on their own), you can attach door access directly to those plans.

Someone signs up for your dedicated desk plan at 2 a.m. on a Sunday? They'll automatically get provisioned with the right access group. No manual intervention required.

You can set different access groups for different plans, too. Maybe your hot desk members get lobby and common area access, while your private office members also get after-hours entry. Configure it once and let the system handle the rest.

Updating and removing access is just as easy

Need to change someone's access level? Go to their profile in Coworks, update the door access toggle, and save. If a member has already been synced to Verkada, you'll see a handy link on their Coworks profile that takes you straight to their Verkada account for any advanced edits.

And when someone leaves? Deactivate them in Coworks and their Verkada access disappears automatically. No chasing down key fobs, no forgetting to revoke credentials two weeks after someone moved out.

One important note: cancelling a membership alone won't revoke door access. You'll need to either deactivate the member in Coworks or manually remove their access in Verkada. It's a small distinction, but worth knowing so you don't leave old credentials floating around.

What you need to get started

You'll need an active Verkada subscription with API access. From there, connecting Verkada to Coworks takes just a few minutes. You'll generate an API key in Verkada, paste it into Coworks, and map your Verkada site to your Coworks campus. The whole setup is covered step-by-step in our help center guide, but the short version is: it's not complicated.

If you've already got members in both systems and want to bulk sync them, just reach out to our support team. We're happy to handle that for you.

Stop double-entering and start operating

Access control is one of those operational tasks that feels small until it isn't.

When you're managing dozens (or hundreds) of members across multiple door groups, the time you spend toggling between platforms adds up. And the risk of human error — giving someone the wrong access, forgetting to revoke a former member's credentials — only grows.

The Verkada integration brings all of that into the place where you're already managing your members. It's fewer tabs, fewer mistakes, and a better experience for your members from the moment they walk through the door. Literally.

Coworks also integrates with other access control systems including Kisi, Brivo, Salto KS, Avigilon Alta, and Ubiquiti UniFi Access. Whichever system you use, the goal is the same: make access one less thing you have to think about.
